IELTS Task 2 Sample Answer 22 - Completing university education is thought by some to be the best way to get a good job. On the other hand, other people think that getting experience and developing soft skills is more important. Discuss both sides and give your opinion
Acquiring a job is a dream for every youngster. While some people think that university education is a prerequisite (requirement) to get a good job, others have a feeling that gaining experience and developing soft skills is of prime (main) importance. However, in my opinion both the above factors (elements, components) hold importance for settling with a good job.
On one hand, completing university education has been thought by a few as the best way to aim for a good job. This is because most the job recruiters list qualification as the most important criterion for application. In addition, the number of students gaining tertiary education has drastically (extremely) increased denoting the demand of qualified professionals. Moreover, certain professionals like teachers and doctors need to be trained in universities to be experts as well as to gain mass acceptance (approval).
On the other hand, experience and soft skills are considered as the most important requirement by some. The reason for this assumption (belief) may be that sometimes experience and soft skills like interpersonal and communication skills may be taken into consideration when all the applicants for a particular job are equally qualified. Moreover, the candidate who is experienced and skilled is likely to perform better in comparison with the one who is merely qualified.
In my opinion, university education, experience and soft skills hold equal importance for a fruitful job. While education seeds the theoretical aspects of subjects, experience and soft skills will definitely take the candidate a step higher for a better career.
In conclusion, settling with a good career is a matter of sustenance. Although people have varied (different, varied) opinions on the requirements to get a good job, I believe it is a necessity (requisite) to be qualified as well as experienced with adequate soft skills.
